Winter’s Deep Rest

Give in to your need for deep rest and replenishment with this special Solstice-themed online class. 

The focus of this class will be yoga nidra, a deeply restful yoga technique that simply invites you to “come as you are”. Lying down, getting warm and comfortable, you will be guided through this form of meditation which is both dream-like and restorative, allowing you to enter into a feeling of deep relaxation and hibernation, perfect for the darkest day of the year!

The class will begin with a short introduction to some of the Pagan/Celtic beliefs around winter solstice and how we as human beings can benefit from understanding our own “inner winters”. For those with a menstrual cycle, this can also include becoming more conscious of your needs and desires during menstruation, and I will share different ways to understand what it means to have your own sense of “wintering”.

You will then be guided through the yoga nidra using a variety of techniques, including the concept of “emptying”, becoming devoid of emotion and thought, as well as progressively relaxing all the muscles of your body. There will be periods of silence in the yoga, as well as the practice of moving the breath and awareness around the body. This can bring a profound stillness to even the busiest of minds! 

At the end of the session we will sit in a “virtual circle”, and you are invited to bring whatever you need to be warm and comfortable for this session, and I will suggest you prepare a flask of tea and little snack for after the nidra - perhaps some dates, nuts, or a little bit of chocolate, whatever your heart desires! I will share some poetry to end the session, and you can continue with your day and whatever lies ahead, feeling reconnected to yourself.

This session offers you some respite from what can be the chaos and exhaustion of the festive season, the chance to recover some of your energies, and feel a sense of deep peace that might otherwise be lost during the busyness of this time of year.

2025: What next?

You are invited to join me for this special online class, incorporating both yoga and astrology, in order to help you recover from whatever the festive season delivered, and find some headspace to look forward to, and prepare for, 2025. 

We will start with slow, small movements as well as some floor-based yoga stretches to ease out any tensions that may have accumulated over the festive season. These are simple yet effective movements and postures that will support us in a full and nourishing breath. The practice will end with a short but sweet yoga nidra, to complete the release of stress and tension through all the layers of our being.  

After the yoga practice I will share an overview of some of the big astrological shifts, and how these changes in the solar system could be reflected here on Earth, and in our own lives. 

Since 2020 we have been building up to some of the significant shifts that will be completed in 2025, with new chapters and beginnings starting to emerge. Talking about astrology in general terms can always be a bit tricky, but I will give you journaling questions and points to reflect on, to help you understand how these cosmic forces may be playing out in your own lives, although if you know your own birth chart, that will be a bonus.

Radically restful Sundays

Join me from the comfort of your own home for a Radically Restful start to your Sunday. This class is online, and will be recorded and sent to all participants afterwards, so if you can’t make this time, sign up anyway, and you will be sent the recording later the same day.

Each class will include:

-accessible yoga stretches which open up the body to the breath, taking you out of fight -flight-freeze and into the restful parasympathetic nervous system 

-restorative yoga postures, effortless postures allowing your body to completely release its grip 

-deeply restful yoga nidra to guide you to a place of peace and acceptance

Each week we will gently explore some yoga philosophy, teachings which can help you achieve a deeper sense of self awareness and understanding. Topics will include areas such as:
